Module
This is the new text replacing ‘Modelle’ below.
Each unit is built around a theme, offering various input materials, opportunities for output, and interactive activities centered on that theme. The topics range from everyday life to sociocultural issues, carefully selected to match the intellectual level of university students. We hope this serves as an opportunity to explore the significance of learning a language in today’s diverse and interconnected society together with the learners.
When it comes to grammar and vocabulary, the approach emphasizes learner discovery through use rather than direct instruction by teachers. While learners will encounter numerous unfamiliar grammar points and vocabulary, they are not expected to understand everything. Instead, the concept encourages focusing on general comprehension without worrying about minor details, experimenting with the language even if it’s incomplete, and embracing the learning process through active use.
Modelle
This is a publication in the form of video-video materials and a book of teaching materials that have been developed collaboratively over a long period of time by teachers involved in teaching German in the German Language Laboratory and used at the SFC. We are currently in the process of gradually moving to ‘Modules’, but some courses will still use these texts.
