Goethe Institute Tests
Tests assessed by the Goethe Institute are internationally recognised. ZD (Zertifikat Deutsch: German language proficiency test) demonstrates the ability to carry out every day interactions in German. There are 6 levels ranging from A1, intended for beginners, to C2, intended for advanced learners. The test includes a written test, which assesses reading, listening, and writing skills, and an oral test, which assesses speaking skills.
Test Date | The date varies each year depending on the test location. You will receive a discount if you apply for the test through the German Lab. |
Level | If you complete Intensive 3 and continue studying German for a further 1~2 semesters, you will be at a passing-level for B1. |

ÖSD Austrian Language Certificate of German
This is an internationally recognised test. The same ZD (Zertifikat Deutsch: German language proficiency test) as in the Goethe Institute tests, demonstrates the ability to carry out every day interactions in German. There are 6 levels ranging from A1, intended for beginners, to C2, intended for advanced learners. The test includes a written test, which assesses reading, listening, and writing skills, and an oral test, which assesses speaking skills.

Dokken
A German proficiency test assessed in Japan. There are six levels: grade 1, grade pre-1, grade 2, grade 3, grade 4, and grade 5. The tests are held twice a year (Summer and Winter) with the exception of grade 1 and pre-1. Grade 2~5 involves a written test, and grade 1 and pre-1 involves an interview in addition to a written test.
